HEP Donates to Knoxville Halloween Events

Knoxville Halloween events

Over the next few weeks, there will be a lot of Halloween-themed events going on around the Knoxville area. Among these, several churches in the area are hosting trunk-or-treat events, and HEP Services has donated over 800 tote bags to the events. The donation of these tote bags helps to ensure that every child who participates in one of these trunk-or-treat events will have a durable bag to carry their candy as they go from car to car.

So far this month, HEP has given tote bags to two churches in the area: New Beverly Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. Both churches’ trunk-or-treat events will be held on Sunday, October 25, so make sure to mark your calendars! These events are free and open to the public. These are just two of the Knoxville Halloween events happening before this Halloween.

Trunk-or-treat events offer a safe alternative to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating. These kind of events are typically held in parking lots where parents or other volunteers have candy in the trunks of their cars and the kids go from car to car to collect candy for their bags of sweets.

As parents’ concerns over doing door-to-door trick-or-treating has increased over the years, participating in these kind of events have become more common over the past few years, and this year is no different. For example, one parents biggest concerns about trick-or-treating has been the new ‘Invisible Man’ Halloween costume. The costume is all black and makes the child virtually invisible at night to drivers, making it potentially dangerous for trick-or-treating. But trunk-or-treating eliminates much of the dangers associated with going door-to-door.

Make sure to get out and enjoy the Knoxville Halloween events going on over the next couple of weeks!

HEP is looking to partner with other churches and give away more tote bags before Halloween is over. If your church or organization is hosting a Halloween-themed event and would like tote bags, please contact Abram Miller at abram.miller@hepisontheway.com.
