The Disabled American Veterans of Fountain City recently joined forces with HEP and other local businesses to install a power wheelchair lift and walk-in shower, both of which will greatly increase the quality of life for Gerald and Sue Collis.
Bill Hitchcox and the employees at HEP (many of whom are veterans themselves) have a profound amount of respect for our nation’s veterans, and were proud to jump at the opportunity to help Mr. Collis and his wife.
Below are just a few of the comments we’ve received from the public lately, and we couldn’t be happier to share them:
“Thank you HEP for your service in helping the Veteran who needed a special tub installed due to his disabilities. I wish there were more companies with your compassion and community spirit to help those who are in need. You are a blessing to East Tennessee. Thank you, thank you, thank you…”

“I just saw the Don Dare story about the disable Vietnam Veteran. I wanted you to know I really do appreciate you and your company guys stepping in to help the man and wife! He really looked like a different guy from the first story! He was so uplifted talking after all the work had been done at his house! He said he felt “human” thank you so much for all you do and I will keep that in mind the next time I hear of something that needs to be done for me or one of my friends! It did not go unnoticed! Thanks again for your community service.”

“I saw the story on WATE about how Hep helped the veteran with the walk-in tub installation. It made me very proud. I am a Vietnam Vet and we certainly did not get a warm reception when we returned from Vietnam. I just wanted to say thank you for your help of one of our vets, and when I need any plumbing work in the future I will call HEP!!! I am also in the insurance business, and if any of my customers need plumbing help, HEP is on the way!!! Thanks again for helping our one of our boys. Have a great day.
